Monica, the massage therapist, told me to rest
I am doing as well as I can at best.
I take a stroll throughout the village
Watching repairs being done before the tourist pillage.
April 1, the first cruise ship arrives
Until then, everything dies.
All of the shops, hotels and restaurants close
I have been lucky to find Lucia who knows.
We talk today and I find out she is the owner of the hotel
Her father bought the hotels years ago and she did not sell.
But has three sisters that are fighting for their part
It is taxing and it breaks her heart.
She is divorced, about fifty-five years old
Has three children that have their fair share of stories she told.
I walk through the square, take more photos of the beautiful tile signs,
A monument to Caesar, up the steps I climb
The views are incredible no matter where you go
Up , down, high or low.
I find Michaelangelo's and stop for lunch
A bowl of vegetable soup, it was wonderful I had a hunch.
What do retired Italian men do in the park?
Play checkers until it gets dark.
