54. Hiking in Capri

I got up early feeling recharged
Got may pack ready to go to Tiburio Jovis.
This is castle from where Tiberius ruled Rome
And legend has it, that from the walls his guests were thrown.
The town is bustling, getting ready for the season

People are painting, opening shops from the cold that was freezen'.
The walk is wonderful, past old villa's of the known
Everything reminds me of my Tucson home.
I walk an hour to the mountain top

The gates are closed, so I have to stop.
I can see the castle and villa from the path
Everything opens in two weeks after Easter mass.

Well let's follow this path to Villa Fersen
A famous poet that was an eccentric.
Guess what, it is closed too,
I could climb the walls, but then say NO!
Don't want to be put in an Italian jail
Wait for a family member to post bail.
There is a path in the woods I begin to follow
Thankfully it brought me back to the square's hallow.
To a little simple church indeed
San Michele Archangel, I go in pray...just what I need

Hitch a ride down the mountain to the marina bay on the  funicular tram
I finally buy some cheap souveniers for the fam.
I like to laugh at the mode of transportation because you are stuck
No cars, or traffic jams, just these modify mini electric trucks

The public beach is not what you would expect
It is rocky, dirty and trash is thrown, it gets no respect.
Wander the street at night just in time for the sunset on the plaza

It is always busy with noise, people and razmataza!
Lucia tells me of Bucca di Bacco, a local pizza place
I go right in, Vincenzo sits me at my place.
Of course, more people from the hotel show up
And, I have conversation with the Brits and Croats.

I thank Lucia for another great night referal
And she tells me that she is sending up Limoncello!
The bellboy brings me up my night cap
It is delicious, yet strong, and I collapse for my night nap!
