Fanano – Day 2-Jan 16th
Awoke refreshed and down the stairs to the inn,
Where Cinzia asked, “How I have been.”
She makes me a coffee, and we sit down to chat,
An hour passes by, in no time flat.
We tell each other about our lives,
And about 10, Riccardo arrives.
We got sightseeing around the town,
He shows me local churches, castles and crowns.
Also, you can drink the crystal clear water from the springs
It is so good, it is bottled by trucks and to cities they
bring.
We go to the house of Petroni, the founder of Fairbanks
Alaska,
A miner by trade, reknowned for his past.
Soccer is the favorite sport by far,
Players come to this field & travel by car.
Back to the Inn for the meal of the day,
We have pork, veal scappolini and a tri-cheese pasta.
For dessert, it is fioridilatte,
Vanilla ice cream with local blueberries on top.
Of course, we do not dine
Without another choice of wine.
To travel to Bologna, we will take the other way,
Over the Monte Cimone and watch the skiers play.
The trip went quickly, how it has flown.
Our bond as family, has definitely grown.
